17/01586/FUL The demolition of the former police station, and the erection of two residential blocks comprising a total of 29 residential units (11x1bed, 14 x2 bed and 4×3 bed), with associated car parking and landscaping – further amended drawings.

Further amended drawings have been submitted for this application made originally almost a year ago in response to comments made on the initial and second design.

Some aspects of the changes are considered to be improvements, but some of the beneficial improvements made last time have been removed – in the Society’s view to the detriment of the proposal. We have asked for the mansard roof design to be reinstated to soften the “blocky” appearance.

In addition, the Society believes further consideration should be given to provision of underground parking to improve the street scene for residents and passers-by alike.

For these reasons the Society cannot yet fully support the application.
