Change of use of space allocated within Block A on Ashley Road for medical centre or offices to create 8 additional flats at ground and first floors (4 x 1-bed, 4 x 2-bed). Proposal involves substitution of door with a window on the rear elevation at ground floor level.

The 2014 application was refused, but appealed, and the appeal is now being heard.

The original plan to relocate the Ashley Centre surgery to part of this site has been long delayed awaiting NHS funding allocation, but is still being vigourously pursued.

The Society believes that, despite the inconvenience to the developer, this plan should be allowed to come to fruition. We wrote expressing this view in January 2015, and have reiterated it with a letter this month to the Planning Inspectorate.
