Zenith Land, a development company, have plans to redevelop the former SGN gas works site, including the Laine Theatre Arts building, in East Street, Epsom, and intend to bring forward a planning application later in summer 2024.
The proposed development includes in excess of 450 new homes, including at least 46 “affordable” homes, and a new headquarters building for Laine Theatre Arts.
Before submitting a formal Planning Application, they are holding two drop-in public exhibitions where their team will be available to show Epsom residents their plans, answer any questions and get their feedback.
The two public exhibitions will be at the Epsom Methodist Church, 11-13 Ashley Road KT18 5AQ on Saturday 13th July 2024, from 11.00am until 2.00pm and Tuesday 16th July 2024, from 5.00pm until 8.00pm.
Members of the Epsom Civic Society Committee have had the chance to see Zenith Land’s presentation of their plans and a table-top model of the proposed development. We believe that as many as possible Epsom residents should attend the public exhibitions and provide their feedback, since this is one of the major potentially-developeable sites in the Borough in the next Local Plan period, whose development would definitely represent a significant change for Epsom Town Centre.
The letter sent by Zenith Land to some 3,000 Epsom residents can be found here and there is also a website developed by their PR company with further details of the proposals here – use the menu at the top of the page left to right to see details of the scheme and the development team.
