Following rejection of two previous applications on various grounds (the Society wrote to object to each proposal – links to our letters below) and a change of planning rules regarding vacant premises, the developer has now reverted to the original design for four detached houses, arguing that the Vacant Building Credit provisions now obviate the need for affordable housing financial contribution.
The decision now seems to rest on whether or not the site qualifies for the Vacant Building Credit.
