No. 6 The Grove lies in the Church Street Conservation Area, and is part of the setting for Grove House, a Grade II listed building.
Although at first sight the proposal may seem acceptable, the Society is concerned at further erosion of the setting of Grove House, contrary to Core Strategy Policy CS5 which mandates the protection and enhancements of the settings of heritage assets, and at the precedent which would be set for the settings of other heritage assets in the Borough.
For this reason the Society has recommended refusal.
