18/00315/FUL Proposed two storey rear extension, 1st floor side extension, and conversion of existing dwelling to provide 4 No. 2 bed flats and 1 No. 1 bed flat, including parking and landscaping.
This property lies in a conservation area close which includes the Grade 2 Listed Grove House, and the proposal is to convert the existing single dwelling into 5 flats, largely retaining the front aspect. This is the third application in recent times and, in the Society’s view, represents an acceptable way of bringing the currently empty property back into use while minimising impact on the conservation area.
The Society would have preferred to avoid parking provision at the front of the house, but this will match the arrangement on other sites in the area. We also suggested that care should be taken during the development to avoid damage to the existing mature trees on the site.
