23/00290/RES Reserved Matters application for Appearance pursuant to Condition 2 of Outline Planning Permission 20/00958/OUT.
Following a series of refused applications for denser housing on this large plot, outline permission with all matters reserved was granted for three detached houses in 2020. Construction now appears to be substantially complete, but not in conformance to the permission granted, in respect of the treatment of the grass verges surrounding the plot. In each case laurel hedging has been planted either side of the driveway, which is inconsistent with the treatment of verges in the locality, which are left as open grassed areas.
The Society believes that this planting is not on land owned by the applicant, not in accordance with its surroundings, would eventually block sightlines representing a safety issue for both traffic and pedestrians and should therefore not be permitted. Accordingly, appropriate enforcement action by the Planning Department has been requested.
