19/00369/LBA Erection of 4 new dwellings and associated access, parking and landscaping.

This application is a complete redesign of that refused and dismissed on appeal in 2107 (16/00213/FUL). Its intention is to respond to the reasons for refusal and dismissal.

Although one fewer house is now proposed and much work has been done by the architects to address the reasons for dismissal of the previous proposal, the Society feels that the new proposal’s pitched roofs and gables relate to local form but the use of flat roofed cantilevered elements is unduly prominent.

Overall, while recognising the efforts made, some adverse design elements remain in the proposal and the Society believes the land would better serve the local residents left as an open space.
