Erection of a canopy structure, feature seating and landscaping in Derby Square together with High Street entrance feature and erection of 3 illuminated and 8 non-illuminated fascia signs together with 5 illuminated and 8 non-illuminated other signs comprising directional, wall-mounted and frame mounted information signs, glazing and totem signs.

The Society supports the principal of trying to enliven this important town centre space but the Committee was unable to agree on many aspects. We applauded the objectives of the application, but the planters proposed will require considerable ongoing maintenance, and the proposed entrance from the High Street struck as undistinguished and uninspiring.
