First Tree Planting in Centenary Wood
Plant trees with the Woodland Trust and help create a living, growing tribute at Langley Vale Wood to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
When: Saturday 13th December 2014, 10am to 3pm. Shuttle buses will be running throughout the day so you can plant at a time convenient to you and for as long as you wish.
Where: The planting will take place at Langley Vale Wood however we will be meeting at Epsom Racecourse (postcode for SatNav: KT18 5LQ). Ample parking is available and free shuttle buses will provide transport from here to Langley Vale village, where staff will walk people down to the planting site (10 minute walk). Alternatively, if you are local then please feel free to make your own way along the public rights of way to the planting area, Nohome field, but please note that there is no parking on site.
As well as helping the Trust put the first of 10,000 trees in the ground at Langley Vale Wood, you can enjoy fun family activities throughout the day including woodcrafts, den building and children’s art activities. Refreshments will be provided. Remember planting is a winter activity so wellies and all-weather clothing are advised!
