23/01046/LBA Proposals for the Site include modernisation of an existing office building to a children’s day nursery suitable for modern day requirements.

16 Church Street is a locally listed building in the Church Street Conservation Area, which has been empty and unused for two years or more. Epsom Civic Society supports this application’s proposal to repair and retain the external appearance of the building, while carrying out internal structural alterations and refurbishment works to facilitate the change of use from an office to a modern day children’s nursery.

However, the Society also notes the need for careful traffic management once it is in use and for the avoidance of inappropriately prominent signs and noticeboards to ensure no adverse impact on the street scene.
